Greetings from Las Vegas! I'm

Greetings from Las Vegas! I'm attending the annual conference of my professional's association of usability. It's 103 degrees today... but it's a dry heat. Saw the Hoover Dam last night. I've only played the slots once - I lost five cents. Boo hoo.

It's so frickin' hot

It's so frickin' hot around here. I was busy sweating last night when I finally wussed out and hauled the AC upstairs so the bedroom would be cool. That was nice. Libby is in Las Vegas all week at a usability convention. So if you want to stop by and listen to loud music, eat cereal for dinner, and walk around in your underwear, gimmie a call.

Busy weekend. We picked strawberries

Busy weekend. We picked strawberries and made a ton of jam on Saturday. All the jam set-up this year, which means we wont have to eat as much strawberry syrup as we have in the past. Bring on the toast.
Sunday we went to a family reunion for the Fournier side of Libby's family. I had 5 different kinds of pasta salad. I'll put pictures up soon.

Team Javelin Solutions is kicking

Team Javelin Solutions is kicking ass in the Brit's Pub 2001 Lawn Bowling league. [Man, that's a crappy website.] 2-0 after beating up on some Venture Cap chicks and a bunch of lawyers. Nothin' wrong with that.

I should have some good pictures of Team Yep after this weeks game. It's the start of the new season and I'm hoping to remember my camera this time.

Well, I wouldn't have believed

Well, I wouldn't have believed it if you told me, but Team Yep is softball champions! Thanks to our unofficial sponsor and our team dogs. The next session starts-up right away next week and I'm expecting nothing less than a dynasty.

We had quite a bitchin'

We had quite a bitchin' storm this afternoon. The wind was blowing, rain was pouring, and some ice even fell from the sky. It was bad enough that some neighbors even went outside to move their cars out from under the protective safety of the trees. I haven't gone out and checked the damage to the garden yet, but it can't be good.
Saw the Shrek movie over the weekend. Hell of a good time.

Softball playoffs start tonight. Unlike

Softball playoffs start tonight. Unlike other years, our team is pretty good. I'm not sure what that means, really, because it's more or less the same people that always play. If we end up winning the entire tournament, I think we get a long-sleeve T-shrit. If we loose, I think we only get short sleeves. Short Sleeves - The New Mark of Shame.

Even though I think she's faking all this 'magic eye surgery' stuff, I let Libby drive me to work today. She didn't hit anything.

Libby had the surgery today.

Libby had the surgery today. Looks like everything went just fine, she's passed out in bed recovering as I type this. If you've got the stomach for it, check out the pictures.

I also read today that there's some bill working it's way through congress that would classify geeks as professionals. The goal is to deal with crazy overtime laws that don't apply to 'web professionals'. I just can't wait to be called a professional.
