Back from a kick-ass weekend

Back from a kick-ass weekend in Chicago. Really, though, how could it not be when I ate two Chicago dogs before we even got to the city? Went to the big Venetian Night down by the water. It was really neat. All these fancy boats get covered with lights and sail up the lakeshore as half a million people watch. If you stand-up, though, people yell at you.

I've been playing mini-golf over

I've been playing mini-golf over lunch lately. It's fun, but I don't win very often.

I know it's sad, but I've been watching a few episodes of the new season of Real World. There's a girl on there, Coral, who's is super mean to one of [doofus] guys in the house. On a recent episode, this dude does something nice for her and she says "I've never had anyone I'm mean to do something nice for me before!" What I don't understand is why, if you know you're being mean to somebody, you keep being mean to them in the first place? Huh.

There were some pretty serious

There were some pretty serious problems with the site this morning, but it looks like everything is back running smoothly. The VC won't be happy to hear that.

Just got back from a restful weekend at Libby's grandparent's cabin. I floated around on a raft for like 15 minutes without sunscreen on. Kids, don't try that at home.

I saw some kids selling Kool-Aid on the street the other day. I thought about being a cool guy and buying all they had. Then I thought about opening a stand right next to theirs and giving Kool-Aid away for free. Then I remember how sad it makes me to see kids cry.

We saw Legally Blonde last

We saw Legally Blonde last Friday. Can't argue with Reese. Even though she never answers my letters, I'll keep going to her movies.

Yesterday we watched a parade

Yesterday we watched a parade in Hopkins. There must have been 10 or so groups of shriners riding various machines around in circles and figure-eight type patterns. This differs from when I was a kid, where the parades I went to only had one group of shriners and they rode big motorcycles. The cops would come by and make everybody back up from the curb and then these guys in funny hats would go blasting up and down the street. This year, no cops, no hats, no blasting. Ok, maybe Keith was blasted, but that's about it.

I'm out at a new

I'm out at a new client for a while. Should be fun.

I read at CNN that some guy ate like 50 hotdogs in 12 minutes. There's even a video of the event if you've got the stomach for it. That's just wrong.

Well, I think all goals

Well, I think all goals were accomplished. My dad - and I am not making this up - cooked enough BBQ'd ribs to feed us for 4 meals. I guess he didn't plan on a bunch of wussies showing up for a holiday weekend. We also watched the Hill fireworks from the boat. More accurately, it was 30 yards from Mr. Hill's dock, but seeing as we were still sitting in the boat, I suppose that counts as being on the water. Being a dumbass, I forgot my camera, so there wont be any cool pictures of my mom posted this year.

Don't forget about The Conway's BBQ Hullaballoo this Sunday.

We're off to my parents

We're off to my parents cabin for a day or two of quality R&R. Ideally, I come back with a tan, some fish, and 5 or 6 extra pounds.

We got Bhav moved out

We got Bhav moved out and Molly moved in last weekend. That didn't leave any time for golf, which is a real shame, seeing as Sunday was one of the nicest days of the year. At least we got to chill and eat some Subway on Molly's new porch.

Short work week because of the holiday. Kick ass.
