Holy stamping parties, batman! If

Holy stamping parties, batman! If you've never had 15+ stamp crazy women in your house eating artichoke dip and making thank-you notes, you just haven't lived. That probably explains why I left the house, then.

At a new client now. It's always fun getting into the grove of how different offices operate. Today, for example, somebody made cocoa in the coffee pot. I called the police to have them arrested, but nobody would confess.

Team Yep is 1-1-1.

I interviewed a guy today

I interviewed a guy today and he mentioned an article, that I had also read. It talked about how, to increase both your job security and marketability, you should look to place yourself in a position that is critical path for the project you're on. That's an interesting, if not obvious, proposition. On one hand, you get more responsibility, more input, more respect and, naturally, more job security and marketability. You also get more accountability and more work time on the weekends. It's also interesting to see how people's priorities change over time, too.

Food for thought.

Got the new server up

Got the new server up and running today. Not too long and I'll be hosting it myself. Not sure why that's such a big deal...
Broomball was a bust. I'm just as slow as I remember. On a good note, the 10 cent wings went down mighty smooth-like. I thought the $8 pitchers were pretty lame, though.

Yesterday, we finally took down

Yesterday, we finally took down our Christmas decorations. It was starting to get creepy walking around with stockings and santa and all that in our house. Now we're back to just an ordinary messy house instead of a seasonally messy house.
I also upgraded our computer. The Athlon approved power supplies are so loud you have to wear ear protection to be near the machine now. Somehow, Libby still managed a few solid turns of civ, though.

I think it's time for

I think it's time for an upgrade. I'd like to move some of my hosting stuff to my house, but I don't have the horsepower to handle it here. It's been two years, though, so you gotta figure it's about time.

I've decided that netbeans is overhyped. Try as I might to like it, I just can't. Bulky.

Back to work hardcore style

Back to work hardcore style today. It was so hardcore, both the client and myself referred to getting our balls either broken or put in a vice. Man, that's tough. But it's also kind of funny.

Broomball started last night, too. I didn't make the first game because we didn't get back in time, but rest assured that Team Yep is off to a 1-0 start after whippin' up on some rugby girls. Something like that, anyway.

Well, we're back from beautiful

Well, we're back from beautiful Lake Tahoe. Talk about views! Talk about skiing! Talk about sore asses! Pictures up soon.

Go Wolves.

Black armbands, please. Dave Thomas,

Black armbands, please.

Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy's, is dead. I ate at Wendy's a lot during high school. Because the dining room was so small, it was like a high school utopia. People ate on top of one another - jocks and nerds, freaks and geeks, guys and, well, ok, only guys. Someday, all of society will be as blind as Wendy's.

I actually got a card from the ladies at Wendy's when I graduated from high school. And I wasn't the only one. It wasn't from Dave Thomas, though, it was just from the lady who worked the counter.

Big weekend. We had the

Big weekend. We had the Javelin Holiday Party on Saturday night. Turns out I work with a bunch of drunks. Well, drunks and people that have kids and have to go home early. I wish somebody had remembered to bring a Xerox machine, because I know people would have been making copies of their butts by the end of the night if one had been available. Instead, we just piled-up on couches at the Loring and waited for the ugly lights to come on.

Well, we didn't make the

Well, we didn't make the list, but Milwaukee is 22nd. That seems strange to me, because I remember last year at the State Fair that we must live in the fattest state in the nation. Deep-fried candybars, and we still didn't make the list? That's just not right. I demand a reweigh.

NYE was a great time.

NYE was a great time. We had a chili cook-off at Grossie and Kate's house. There was no clear-cut winner, except for people like me, who love chili.

Last Friday, we checked out Matt Wilson and John Munson at the 400. A bunch of Trip Shakespeare covers, whch was great to see. Oh, for the days of happy youth.
