these pipes are clean
Good god the plumbing work is done and it's all put together and it actually works. What a hellish day, though. I got up at dawn to finish preparing the house. Then the plumber arrived at 8:15 - which is like 2 hours later than he'd like to start - so he hit the ground at full blast. Hang on, pipes!
I had told the plumber on the phone yesterday that I was taking the day off from work to stay home for the job, so he showed up without his assistant and had me do all the grunt work. Stuff like prepping pipe and fetching tools and making coffee and, oh yeah, cleaning up everything which will seriously take me like another 2 days. But hey, it saves me money, right? Where do I sign?
It actually was a lot of fun. More fun than I thought it would be. The dude is an old timer who grew up right in this area, so he's full of good stories and the day ended up going pretty fast. The fastest part was the 10-minute lunch break he let us take.
Now that it's done, we need a new showerhead because the old one is all clogged and the water sprays everywhere now that there's real pressure behind it. Everything else is pretty much mint, though.
Up next: the ceiling surgeon.
