they don't have a website and i can't find any mention of the closing online, but believe me, my friends, they're closing at the end of the month. i talked to the manager dude and he said the building just wants them out. if there was ever a time for grassroots rebellion, this would be it. those are hands down the best cake doughnuts in the twin cities and losing them will tear at the very fabric of our society.

yeah, someone else emailed me the site, too. as i updated here, the full story is more complicated than just "the building wants us out". Either way, it's a serious bummer.

Dave, I just want tp reiterate the importance of your blog for us at The Lone Doughnut. A couple of us built the website in a few days, and we really screwed some things up. It doesn't turn up in any conventional searches. You would be doing us a great service by helping us portray the whole story. I'll be posting the original eviction order tomorrow on the website. It gave Mike 24 hours to get out after 26 years in business. Staying open until August 31 was negotiated. Thanks. Mark
