new twins stadium design - revealed! [strib]
first blush take - inside: mint; amenities: mint; main entrance / exterior: not so much. seriously, the city was smart enough to make the parking ramps over there look all brick-y and warehousey, and now they want to drop a spaceship of a ballpark into the middle of it? who knows, maybe it won't look so out of place in person. when i go to games. which i will. as long as the bandwagon is picking up in my neighborhood, that is.

I for one appreciate how they almost eliminated the cheap seats from the stadium. It looks like there's about 14 seats in the outfield, at least they won't need the big curtain of shame to make the outfield seats look full. Ok they might still need it in April and May, and probably June because it's too cold to sit outside at a baseball game... and they'll need it in August when it's "too hot".
That'll be an awesome ballpark for 3 weeks in July! Buy your tickets early!

Huna likes the outside look. Kind of prairie style architecture with some modernity to it. I'm sick of brick stadiums.

dude, you know i love limestone. (i actually love all carbonates.) there are limestone buildings downtown that look awesome. right down in the warehouse district. but they don't look like the wcco studio building. or the new library. the new library works because it bridges the warehouses with the glass of downtown. the new stadium is just off by a couple of blocks. or maybe they'll turn the limestone on edge and make it look rough and tumble, in which case it could really rule. i'm not saying it'll look awful, but i'm not saying it'll t look timeless, either.

Actually, I didn't know you love limestone. Why don't you marry it, then? HAH!!!!!11!!1!!
