that organic milk you've been buying at target - not organic [minnmon]

"minneapolis-based target corp. is among a group of grocers named in a lawsuit accused of falsely selling milk as 'organic'." i knew there was a reason i couldn't taste the difference.

  1. Chris thought:

If it's not organic does that mean it comes from non-carbon based cows?

I hate it when my milk comes from silicon cows.

Is it really that big of a surprise that a farm in Colorado that is selling milk to Wal-Mart, Target, Costco and others can't keep it's arbitrarily determined 'organic' label while selling a gazillion gallons of milk?

  2. dave thought:

totally the fun part of this story isn't the bit about it being 'not organic', it's all about the fact that all this 'organic' milk comes out of the same enormous 'organic factory farm'.

    surprised? me neither.

  3. dad thought:

Note the key words in story
"The Cornucopia Institute, a progressive farm-policy research group based in Wisconsin..." ... "Asking for customers' money back, punitive damages and attorneys' fees the suit was filed on behalf of people who bought the milk and seeks class-action status"

And a refund of 50cents per gallon in the form of coupons for those who can prove they bought the milk along with 27 million in fees to the progressive lawyers. surprise surprise surprise

  4. dave thought:

    what would erin brockovich do?

  5. dad thought:

whatever. but she would look really hot in court wearing those low cut tops.
