ranking top25 newspaper websites [247wallst]
nytimes at 1, strib at 17. it's kind of the same point over and over again: if you're not the nyt or some huge national or international clearninghouse, stick to the local scene, make it compelling, make it collaborative, make it simple, blahblahblah. i guess 17 isn't bad, right? i wonder if they included the vitakids? in related news: the cp strib deathwatch blogging by khof is yawningly predixy. leave it to brauer, please.

I think you missed the point of the newspaper rankings. They are listed in order of daily circulation numbers; that's what put the Strib at 17. The Strib's online presence received a grade of B-, which means it's better than some papers w/ larger circulation numbers, but worse than others with lower circ numbers.

indeed i did totally miss the point, and here's a sincere thanks for pointing it out. i guess that's what i get for skimming the NYT and LAT summaries, then scrolling down to find the Strib. ugh.
fd: i read the strib.com every day. i find it clean and simple enough (esp w/adblock/flashblock), but it never really pulls me in. it always seems like there's only 5 articles to read each day - which i know isn't the case - but the narrow layout that makes it "feel" that way. let's get some wide up in there. drop that silly left nav thing. open it up. let it breathe. set thy content free.
